EXTENDABLE ARM AWNINGS

Advantages and characteristics of extendable arm awnings

The extendable arm awning
is recommended to be placed under covered areas or overhangs since it does not have protective elements for the canvas, it is the most advisable place for its installation and the Chest or drawer awning can be installed home both on front walls and ceiling.
In this case, the canvas and arms are fully protected from atmospheric effects such as rain or environmental pollution, thus prolonging the durability of all its elements.
Aesthetically, it is also much more compact since its design means that it is fully integrated into the facades or sheds where they are placed.
Currently, very high quality extendable arm awnings are manufactured that allow arm extensions of up to 4.00 mts. with winding tubes and reinforced profiles for widths of up to 7.00 meters in one piece.
The basic concept of these awning models is to protect the terraces or spaces so that when the awning is open it allows us to enjoy the shade they will give us, and at the same time to be able to close them completely in a small space (in in this case the drawer) and leaving no element outside of it that could have any risk of breakage or deterioration.

Acrylic and technical fabrics

The fabrics used in these types of awnings are acrylic canvas, which is the most common, but also technical fabrics such as Soltis.

The acrylic tarpaulin is the most advisable since if the awning has the necessary slope and there is no wind, it allows water to evacuate since it has a protection of 300 b/p.

The technical fabrics are designed for awnings with a lot of inclination, and this means that if we look through the fabric, we do not lose visibility to the outside, or also to be placed in very closed spaces, since it is a fabric that breathes more than an acrylic canvas.
With regard to the opening and closing system, the motor is recommended in the event that it is a large awning, since if it is done with a handle it can mean a continuous effort to raise it.
In addition to the fact that motorized systems allow the incorporation of automatic protection mechanisms, which is always a guarantee of safety for the awning.

This awning model consists of supports fixed at each end that support a winding tube of 70 or 80 mm in diameter (depending on the width of the awning), and articulated arms with an internal spring system to provide tension, and which open the slotted frontal profile that serves to keep the canvas always taut at its maximum output.
It allows degrees of inclination ranging from 0 to 85º.
