INSTALLATION OF ALAND BOX WITH VIEWS TO MONTSERRAT

30/08/2023

An installation of two Aland model chest awnings directly fixed to an iron beam was carried out. To fix the supports of the awnings, a direct hole was made in the iron beam and then a thread pitch of metric 10 was made. It was decided to place the awnings in the center of the beams so that, once closed, the hidden as much as possible, giving the feeling as if they were part of the structure itself.

One of the awnings is 3600 mm wide and the other 5700 mm and both consist of a 3 meter opening to be able to cover most of the terrace. The arms have integrated LED light strips to be able to take advantage of the awnings during the night and create a "chill out" area.

They also have a wireless IO wind sensor in the front profile. This sensor detects vibration when the awning moves with the wind and, depending on the degree of vibration, causes the awning to close.

The canvas of the awnings is made of Soltis 92 technical fabric that allows a minimum percentage of light to enter and also maintain the views once the awning is open.

In short, this installation was done with practical thinking, looking for the greatest functionality of the awnings and at the same time respecting the aesthetics of the house.
